The<br \/>\nCodes of Conduct is a guide to show what we expect from the students so that we can help them to achieve a good Islamic<br \/>\nunderstanding of our religion in a supportive and non-threatening environment.<br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Attendance<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\nStudents should attend all their timetabled lessons.<br \/>\nIf they or parents know they are going to be absent then they should inform Al Markaz office or a member of staff.<br \/>\nPreferably prior to the date of absence. Punctuality for all lessons is essential to help achieve the most from Al Markaz.<br \/>\nPersistent lateness or absence will be monitored and followed through with further action after discussion with senior<br \/>\nstaff. If a student is absent without a valid reason for 10 consecutive days then he\/she will be dismissed from Al Markaz<br \/>\nand registration fee will be required to re-admit.<br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Classroom Behaviour<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Arrive on time.<br \/>\n\u2022 Mobile phones have to be kept switched off whilst in class. If any student is found using a mobile phone in class it will be<br \/>\nconfiscated and he\/she will be<br \/>\nasked to have it collected by a parent\/guardian after the lesson ends.<br \/>\n\u2022 Eating and drinking is not allowed during lesson times.<br \/>\n\u2022 Any electronic or web-enabled devices and the wearing of headphones are not allowed.<br \/>\n\u2022 Students to behave, act, communicate and dress in a manner that is courteous and respectful to both staff and students.<br \/>\n\u2022 Take part fully in lesson.<br \/>\n\u2022 Students to bring all the necessary equipment for the lesson. (Booklet, Pen, pencil and ruler).<br \/>\n\u2022 Students to leave the classroom in a condition that it was found in. (In a clean state).<br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Uniform<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\nThere is a dress code, which has to be respected by both males and females\u2019 students. This must be fully adhered to by the<br \/>\nstudents particularly on the premises of Al Markaz. Al Markaz considers the mode of dress, as a part of its uniform and any<br \/>\nstudent who refrains from implementing its requirements will be appropriately warned. If any students continues to<br \/>\ninfringe the code then the parents\/guardians will be required to attend a meeting with the Headteacher to resolve the<br \/>\nsituation.<br \/>\nDress Code for the Boys Islamic Studies and Alim course is a White Throbe or Shalwar Kameez and White Mosque Hat.<br \/>\nDress Code for the Girls Islamic Studies is a Black Juba\/Abaya\/Jilbab with Black Scarf.<br \/>\nDress Code for the Alimah Classes is Black Juba\/Abaya\/Jilbab with any Coloured Scarf.<br \/>\nAll student haircuts must be according to the Islamic rulings.<br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Fees<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\nAll students must pay registration Fee of \u00a310.00 (non-refundable) in advance at the time of enrolment. Monthly Fees for<br \/>\nBoys\/Girls Islamic Studies is due at beginning of the month.<br \/>\nFor the Alim\/Alimah course it must be paid in advance for 10 weeks, preferably at the time of registration. Any difficulty in<br \/>\npayment must be discussed prior to the term beginning.<br \/>\nAl Markaz reserves the right to revise the admission fees. The students will be advised accordingly.<br \/>\nNOTE: All students are liable to pay full fees even if they\u2019re absent from Al Markaz. Any holidays being planned must be<br \/>\ndiscussed with senior staff at Al Markaz.<br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Serious Offences<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\nSome actions are not accepted and considered to be serious offences include: Being violent or threatening towards others,<br \/>\nthe ft, bullying (Physical or verbal \u2013 including email and text messages).<br \/>\nIf you are found to be involved in any of these, the disciplinary procedure will be immediately implemented and you could<br \/>\nbe permanently excluded from Al Markaz. Any damages caused by a student must be compensated.<br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Holidays<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nAl Markaz will be closed for the two Eids and maybe closed for the following Islamic festivals:-<br \/>\nDays for Ashura (9th, 10th Muharram), Isra wal Miraj (27th of Rajab) &amp; Milad Un Nabi (12th of Rabi ul Awwal).<br \/>\nShab-e-Barat (15th of Sha\u2019baan), Ramadan (dates tbc).<br \/>\nAdditionally, Al Markaz will be closed for some of the School Holidays (Summer &amp; Christmas dates tbc).<br \/>\nAny days of closure will be reported to you by Al Markaz. Al Markaz reserves the right to cancel, postpone or change these<br \/>\ndates or the timetable.<br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Disciplinary Procedure<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\nStaff will make the parents\/guardians aware of any issues or concerns with their child\u2019s behaviour and this will help to set<br \/>\nout an action plan to improve their performance. If these effects fail after repeated attempts, then the disciplinary<br \/>\nprocedure will be followed.<br \/>\nAll students are entitled to go through each stage of the disciplinary procedure with an exception of serious offences.<br \/>\nHowever, there may be time s where the nature of behaviour results in a written warning being given even though it may<br \/>\nbe the first time the behaviour is occurred.<br \/>\nThese are usual stages of the disciplinary procedure:<br \/>\n1.Verbal Warning. 2. Written warning. 3. Final written warning. 4. Dismissal<br \/>\n<strong>Covid-19 guidelines<\/strong> (We expect all students to adhere to the following rules whilst on Al Markaz premises). If you<br \/>\ndisplay any symptoms please stay at home.<br \/>\n\u2022 Sanitise your hands or wash them upon entry and where necessary.<br \/>\n\u2022 You must wear a mask (12 year olds +).<br \/>\n\u2022 You must maintain social distancing.<br \/>\n\u2022 Bring your own shoe bag and keep it with you at all times (12 year olds +).<br \/>\n\u2022 Food is only allowed in an air tight container, water bottles are also permitted for longer classes.<br \/>\n\u2022 Take all your equipment home (Quarn,Qaida,books,bags etc&#8230;).<br \/>\nCovid-19 Disclaimer: All teachers, students and visitors entering Markaz premises for classes or events do so at their own<br \/>\nrisk.
