Al Markaz Ul Islami’s Policies and Procedures

At Al Markaz Ul Islami, we aim to give the student all the support they need to achieve success during their lifetime. The
Codes of Conduct is a guide to show what we expect from the students so that we can help them to achieve a good Islamic
understanding of our religion in a supportive and non-threatening environment.
Attendance
Students should attend all their timetabled lessons.
If they or parents know they are going to be absent then they should inform Al Markaz office or a member of staff.
Preferably prior to the date of absence. Punctuality for all lessons is essential to help achieve the most from Al Markaz.
Persistent lateness or absence will be monitored and followed through with further action after discussion with senior
staff. If a student is absent without a valid reason for 10 consecutive days then he/she will be dismissed from Al Markaz
and registration fee will be required to re-admit.
Classroom Behaviour
• Arrive on time.
• Mobile phones have to be kept switched off whilst in class. If any student is found using a mobile phone in class it will be
confiscated and he/she will be
asked to have it collected by a parent/guardian after the lesson ends.
• Eating and drinking is not allowed during lesson times.
• Any electronic or web-enabled devices and the wearing of headphones are not allowed.
• Students to behave, act, communicate and dress in a manner that is courteous and respectful to both staff and students.
• Take part fully in lesson.
• Students to bring all the necessary equipment for the lesson. (Booklet, Pen, pencil and ruler).
• Students to leave the classroom in a condition that it was found in. (In a clean state).
Uniform
There is a dress code, which has to be respected by both males and females’ students. This must be fully adhered to by the
students particularly on the premises of Al Markaz. Al Markaz considers the mode of dress, as a part of its uniform and any
student who refrains from implementing its requirements will be appropriately warned. If any students continues to
infringe the code then the parents/guardians will be required to attend a meeting with the Headteacher to resolve the
situation.
Dress Code for the Boys Islamic Studies and Alim course is a White Throbe or Shalwar Kameez and White Mosque Hat.
Dress Code for the Girls Islamic Studies is a Black Juba/Abaya/Jilbab with Black Scarf.
Dress Code for the Alimah Classes is Black Juba/Abaya/Jilbab with any Coloured Scarf.
All student haircuts must be according to the Islamic rulings.
Fees
All students must pay registration Fee of £10.00 (non-refundable) in advance at the time of enrolment. Monthly Fees for
Boys/Girls Islamic Studies is due at beginning of the month.
For the Alim/Alimah course it must be paid in advance for 10 weeks, preferably at the time of registration. Any difficulty in
payment must be discussed prior to the term beginning.
Al Markaz reserves the right to revise the admission fees. The students will be advised accordingly.
NOTE: All students are liable to pay full fees even if they’re absent from Al Markaz. Any holidays being planned must be
discussed with senior staff at Al Markaz.
Serious Offences
Some actions are not accepted and considered to be serious offences include: Being violent or threatening towards others,
the ft, bullying (Physical or verbal – including email and text messages).
If you are found to be involved in any of these, the disciplinary procedure will be immediately implemented and you could
be permanently excluded from Al Markaz. Any damages caused by a student must be compensated.
Holidays
Al Markaz will be closed for the two Eids and maybe closed for the following Islamic festivals:-
Days for Ashura (9th, 10th Muharram), Isra wal Miraj (27th of Rajab) & Milad Un Nabi (12th of Rabi ul Awwal).
Shab-e-Barat (15th of Sha’baan), Ramadan (dates tbc).
Additionally, Al Markaz will be closed for some of the School Holidays (Summer & Christmas dates tbc).
Any days of closure will be reported to you by Al Markaz. Al Markaz reserves the right to cancel, postpone or change these
dates or the timetable.
Disciplinary Procedure
Staff will make the parents/guardians aware of any issues or concerns with their child’s behaviour and this will help to set
out an action plan to improve their performance. If these effects fail after repeated attempts, then the disciplinary
procedure will be followed.
All students are entitled to go through each stage of the disciplinary procedure with an exception of serious offences.
However, there may be time s where the nature of behaviour results in a written warning being given even though it may
be the first time the behaviour is occurred.
These are usual stages of the disciplinary procedure:
1.Verbal Warning. 2. Written warning. 3. Final written warning. 4. Dismissal
Covid-19 guidelines (We expect all students to adhere to the following rules whilst on Al Markaz premises). If you
display any symptoms please stay at home.
• Sanitise your hands or wash them upon entry and where necessary.
• You must wear a mask (12 year olds +).
• You must maintain social distancing.
• Bring your own shoe bag and keep it with you at all times (12 year olds +).
• Food is only allowed in an air tight container, water bottles are also permitted for longer classes.
• Take all your equipment home (Quarn,Qaida,books,bags etc…).
